I have a Chamaedorea microspadix I got from Roger Auman, who has a booth at the Olympia's Farmers Market. He sells exotic plants from that booth. You can find him posting on the Northwest Palms and Subtropicals plant board, so you might ask there. Roger grows his outdoors, but then he has a very good micro-climate. Depending on which part of Seattle you live, you might also have a good micro-climate.

I live in Issaquah, not so good, but my plant is still in a pot. I left it out this last winter and didn't get it indoors until it was subjected to a 22ºF overnight freeze. It didn't show any damage from that. Something I can't say for some of the other hardy palms I have that are supposed to be hardier.

I have had both at my previous garden in Olympia for many years. They are very hardy and are never damaged bu cold as long as they are planted under a tree canopy which offers some protection. They also like the partial shade offered by the trees. They grow very slowly but I have seen C. radicalis flower and set seed in Seattle. I don't have any other tips on finding them - I grew mine from seed.
