Performance of grapes is always iffy here. Some years good, others mediocre at best. The early ripening varieties seem to do best - Reliance, Interlaken, Vanessa, Lynden Blue (like Concord - tasty!!). Most local nurseries will have a suitable selection.

But they still need heat to develop sugars and that doesn't always happen sufficiently.

EMY, I like Glenora; it's a seedless purple grape with stunning fall leaf color: brilliant red! I've grown them successfully in the Puget Sound region.

You ought to try some of my hybrids. I've been breeding grapes locally, near Tacoma for the past 20 years. We do need s little bit of sunshine though, cause last season I had about 10% of the normal crop. Hopefully this summer will happen. Generally, to get ripe in Western WA. A grape variety should be about a week earlier than Concord.

Price grape would be an excellent choice. Does well in PNW, vigorous grower, delicious flavor, seeded, available from Raintree nursery.
