Oh my Gosh, I thought it was just mine. My timber bamboo put up a couple scrubby little starts, and then one nice big one under a path (I must have missed that line when I root pruned the perimiter last). I had to cull those, and then....nothing. I was really getting worried. Finally it started shooting about 10 days ago, some nice 2 inchers, but so far only one that is more than 2 1/2 inches in diameter. I will let it go for now and harvest the smaller ones for trellaces, I like to keep it thinned, its a small grove, but maybe I do need to fertalize, Im so glad its not just mine... :)

It's the cool weather. My large, established bamboos are mostly 1-2 weeks behind schedule... like everything else.

Mine are still a little young.. Only 2 years old - but I don't seem to be having that trouble... They are planted on mounds tho, and they aren't all "timber" bamboo.. All my others have shoots as well..
