Can see affinities in flower and foliage but don't remember this particular one. Not that I've seen them all, but my interest was such at one time (1970s) that I got a pretty good dose of what was around. Maybe it's even an unnamed seedling.

That sure looks a lot like R. fortunei although the bloom looks to be a bit darker pink than the one I have. Also, it doesn't bloom that late here.

My first guess would have been one of the Yakus, perhaps 'Sunrise' but not so sure because the leaves on a Yaku are kind of that wooley tan underneath.

R. auriculatum blooms very late in the season. It can have light pink blooms.

Yes, the foliage looks very like the foliage on R. fortunei which is why I suggested that one.

Plus, are the yaks not a short variety? This mystery one looks to be a big guy.

Flowers on auriculatum look to be tubular. Flowers on the mystery plant do not appear to be tubular.

I don't know a lot about rhodies - are there that many that flower in July? One thing - auriculatum is usually scented. New growth has fine whitish, appearing downright fuzzy. Maybe you could call Greer Gardens and ask them.
