Do a google image search on "trachelospermum" and see if that's what you have.

I second the nomination. Easily found at outlets but not terribly hardy. Plant in sheltered position, such as against house wall in an overhung nook where hard frosts and frigid winds do not penetrate readily. Even if it were not tender a good idea to have it in a quiet area where you are likely to sit outside because you will then get much more enjoyment out of the fragrance.

yea, that's where my boyfriend's mom has it, next to the front door against the house under a small overhang. You walk anywhere near it and it just smells great.
