Another hobby project done, with hosta over the wing !

Well with things slowing down, I finished this long term Hobby project, 5 years for me, and a guy I bought it from started it 10 years before that ! I hope no one cares about it being slightly off topic, so I made sure to get my new little Hostas in the back ground !

My 1/3 scale Sopwith Pup..

the plane is 108 inch wingspan, over 36 inchs tall, weighs about 42 pounds.. it has a 80 cc twin gasoline engine, and a 24 inch prop. it WILL move around leaves better than any garden tool you have seen ! hahah when we test ran it.. it really cleaned off the patio.

Yes I see all your new little Hostas. They will really make that area look very nice.

That plane is very cool. It would look great sitting around for all to see.

In one of the Minnesota gardens that Paul toured in 2010 the owners had wonderful Hostas and several refurbished old cars as part of the garden art. It is the Larsen garden in the Gallery. You can make this work.

that is a great hobby! Did you fly that plane already, it is probably radio controlled? Do you fly it with an RC club? You could mount a camera in it and take pictures of your hostas from above.
I have a little $50 helicopter with a camera in it, but never flew it, wanted to take photos of broken branches in my tall pines...

It hasn't been test flown yet.. And I would need a LOT of room nearby to do a Hosta photo shoot from above. Its funny you mentioned the camera aspect as I have a remote control pan and tilt camera assembly that will mount on the airplane, and take on board video when it flies.
