Need help with kitchen

I have done my kitchen in white cabinets with white carrera marble - I think it looks a bit clinical - any ideas how I can warm up the space

I would change the backsplash. I think the blue is giving you that feeling?

I think it's quite beautiful and not clinical at all. After you've add your accessories and personal touches it will be perfect!

Add darker wood elements on the counter tops. Darker than your existing baskets. Leave out oil bottles for cooking by the stove, a nice darker cutting board, plant in the corner that is not airy and leafy, more condensed and bushy. I would do minimal stainless pieces. What are your window treatments?

what about a carpet runner either in front of cooktop or between island and sink? beautiful kitchen. remember to seal your marble once or twice a year to protect it from stains.

Beautiful kitchen. The only thing I would do major is change the backsplash. It doesn't go with the rest of the room. Add a colorful vase, small green plant or a colorful plate on a stand in the corner between the sink and stove. I'd place the fruit in a black or stainless tiered fruit holder instead of the basket or use a different basket. A small plant on the island would be nice also.

it's the lighting, add under-cabinet lights and two beautiful pendants over the island...like these, but in satin nickel

Maybe try picking a bold color and get a few accents to set out on the counters. Just a few items should help- (I hate clutter.) Also, maybe you could try changing out the cabinet knobs and drawer handles. It looks really nice already so you will just be making it better. Good work!

I have plantation shutters on wall of windows to porch - no window treatments on window over sink. Ceiling over work island is not centered so cant hang two pendant lights. Open over eating island island - again now sure what to do for lighting here. Agree about backsplash - don't like it myself - any suggestions??

Yes, it's from Ann Sacks, it's not cheap, but you don't need that much.

Nice kitchen, looks like a lot of effort went into the design. I agree with Aggie, under mount spot lighting. Also by simply adding a dimmer switch to the ceiling lights to lower the brightness is an easy warm-up..

I hate to say it, but I kind of agree with changing that backsplash. I think either a white subway, with a nice focal point tile under that rangehood, or maybe a wood backsplash to pull that floor color up. I think if your existing backsplash was done with pure white grout it might have been better.

You have a really good start! Love the timeless white cabinets and carrera. I suggest you paint the base of your island a lead or downspout grey. This will also coordinate with the carrera. Consider replacing your backsplash with mirror or the same carrera and put some nice silver pieces on the counter. I would use a white window treatment. Hang a lovely brushed nickel fixture over the island. I would stick with the whites and greys and for color, place a silver bowl, platter, or tray filled with colorful fresh vegetables like red, yellow, orange peppers, asparagus, artichokes, eggplant, etc.

Here is a pic of our kitchen (quite similar to yours actually) with under mount spots, and then with the ceiling lights dimmed. Th lighting seems to warm it up. Btw I love your marble. Lighting would defiantly be the less expensive route...

Your kitchen is beautiful - and the backsplash is neutral enough to be a backdrop and let the cabinets and stove shine.
I would suggest first: just add color, softness and warmer lighting - pick up your stove grate black with some black metal elements, soften with dark wood items, recover your fabric seats with a bright, clear color or pattern that includes the strongest backsplash color (gray-blue?) and two others, add a runner on the dining island, add color accessories or plant pots in those other two colors: apple red, or granny smith green or ?? , plants add life and soften hard sufaces....

Consistent, linear under cabinet lighting is one of the best tools in the kitchen. A molding or fabric cornice across the bottom of the soffit on your shutter wall to shield the glare/direct view of the pot lights. Pair that with a simple valance or cornice for the sink window ..... If any of your recessed lights over the dining island are in the right locations, you can easily convert those to pendant light connections and suspend some colorful glass 'jewels' overhead. Consider changing the bulbs in the recessed lights to something softer and warmer ... If you still need more you can change the backsplash, but you may see it differently then ......
