My first tomato!

I posted for the first time last year, which was my first ever attempt at gardening. My first attempts didn't end too well, as I didn't grow a single tomato. This year I vowed to try again, planting two months earlier than before (I live in north Texas). I've been told that I still managed to plant too late for my area, which had me feeling a bit discouraged - however I'm super happy to report that I have 5 baby tomatoes at the moment! I told my boyfriend that as long as I managed to grow one tomato it would be considered a triumph, and next year I would try to grow two, haha. A couple of my flowers didn't seem to fertilize, but I'm not sure how common/uncommon that is. I always assumed that pretty much every flower would become a tomato, but perhaps that is not the case. Either way I'm very excited that I did better than last year - now I just have to worry about the whole new batch of problems that can happen to the fruit itself! Here's hoping I get to eat the little suckers one day. :)

This photo is taken of a brandywine, and was the first tomato to appear.
