Do I have to use same tile throughout house?

We are using Acacia hardwood (nearly naked finish). Going to put tile in the kitchen, entrance and two bathrooms upstairs. Do I have to use the same tile and is there a rule about this?

Nice! Acacia is pretty wood. Why not take it through the kitchen and leave the tile for the bathrooms and entry?

No, your tile can be different for these different rooms. But I agree with J&D that it would be nice to extend the acacia floors into the kitchen.

It would provide a more consistent look throughout the house if you use the same combination of materials in the rooms. But you might right the risk of the entire house being outdated if you make the wrong choices.

Please do not use the same tiles in the Toilets .
