Are my echinaceas dead?

12 years ago

I bought a couple Sombrero 'Hot Coral' last year, later in the season. They looked wonderful. There is currently no signs of growth whatsoever. I know it has been a hard winter, but my hostas, heucheras & other perennials are starting to grow & show life. Are echinaceas late to come up in the spring, should I wait longer, or do you think they may of died? How can I tell?
