I do want to keep the couch, do you think they Dior Grey would still work with it? also, we do plan on opening the wall that is to the right of the "grey square" which will open to our dining room, but for now I will paint it. On the fire reface we are thinking a natural stone similar to this (without the stainless steel)

true. I am considering this kind of esthetic (in fact I think it is my couch)...so I think you are right about not trying to pick the final touches just yet. But just hate the yellow!

I agree with Judy M....do the stone and floors first. I actually like the yellow, but it looks like you like greens.....maybe check into some green colors for paint.

Judy is right about selecting your stone and floor first. If you were to choose a color, may we suggest two colors: Benjamin Moore Affinity Angelica AF-665 for the walls and for the walls inside the bookcase you may want to consider BM Affinity Nightingale AF-670.

I'll start with saying I love yellow walls.... Most of my living space has yellow walls just a tad lighter than yours. But most of my furniture, window treatments etc, are in deeps autumn colors: burnt orange, deep, dark reds, etc.

Your furniture and acceccories, definately make the yellow odd in this space. Looking at what you already have, I'd vote for a very very pale blue for your walls. Something close to white, with just the tiniest touch of blue.

Love the idea of using a darker color for the back of the bookshelf, those colors are great, I will grab samples today!

Hatloes,or anyone else, any ideas for the firplace? stone or tile suggestions? Also I want to do hardwoods throughout the whole home, all room have lots of natural light and I was leaning towards a lighter floor, but any suggestions of wood or wood types would be amazing :)
