Griddles

Not sure if this is the right forum, or if the kitchen forum would be better, but:

I'm thinking about building a house in the next 6-10 months. I'd like to either buy a cooktop that has a decent size griddle built in (or a modular). What's the most economical way to do that? I saw that GE has some gas cooktops that have modular grills and griddles. However, the griddle can only cover the left side of the cooktop and doesn't look very big.

I've noticed there are some more commercial grade cooktops that have rather large griddles. Those seem to be very expensive though. Is there someone in between I can use? I'd prefer gas. I don't really want to get an electric griddle if I don't have to . Something more permanent would be nice
