My first floor is below grade in parts and house is built on cement slab- have just had to lift and throw out brand new gorgeous bamboo floor. My contractor wants me to go with "luxury" vinyl imitation floor .... I cannot find anything that doesn't look tacky. Any ideas?? The area to be covered is entrance hall and three bedrooms. I want the right note to be struck when you walk in..... the bamboo was really chic but it all buckled up from moisture. We are taking care of this with sealants and underIayments, but don't want to go through this upheaval again. and sadly I don't like ceramic tile anywhere except bathrooms!
