      surprised that you did not use a clear cedar in the soffit. I am not generally a fan of standard tight knot, however it is much less $. I am curious what the stain is on the shingle and if it it yellow or western red.

      HI Sorry, yes real cedar is more expensive and generally considered a more luxury/premium product. Yes, Hardy is more durable and they have made great improvements in their look! However, in our home market, for premium homes it is not something that I can consider... : ( so that does mean more maintenance. This is the house I just finished the soffits are clear cedar, cedar shingles
