green walls AND large windows showing green vegetation???

Hey guys,
we purchased a contemporary style home with large picture-wondows and vaulted ceilings. The walls are currently painted green form previous homeowners, and I was thinking about painting it a different color (grey family: tapestry beige oc 32 by BM, or coastal fog by BM) to enhance the picture windows. I feel it's too much of a green, and my gorgeous large windows get lost in green walls... What do you think?

P.S. Please, pardon the modest entertainment center - it's from my husband's furniture ( we just got married and moved in), so that will be GONE :)

Are those walls on either side of the bump out window? I feel painting out all that green will definitely make the windows "pop" more. It will also give the whole area more visual space.

I agree with you cover the green. Take your two paint choices and test out the colors you are considering. Do a swatch of each by the floor, and also behind the sofa and live with them a few days before you decide which one to choose.

I think if you paint over the green in a warm gray that it would instantly help to modernize the space. Check out Ralph Lauren paints. They have the best grays in my opinion... not too cool or blah, just right.

I totally agree. Please do stick with more natural tons or simply white when it comes to narrow windows in a nice modern living space.

carolannr, that was my very 1st idea!!! At least painting of that small wall space around the large window!

Darzy, that's exactly what I wanted to do: put those 2 colors on the wall and see how I like it. Tapestry beige by BM (image attached) is a color in the lower floor: I LOVE it! It's a warm grey with green undertones :)

Axam_23, that's exactly what I wanted to go for: warm greys :)

the windows are large and wide though, not narrow like you mentioned in your post:) maybe a typo :)))

I absolutely love the grren glow I get when the sun shines just right thru the leaves on the big tree that covers my living room window. It doesn't happen but a short time every year and that's all the green I would want in my house but I love that window and tree!

Love your view! If you upload pics to Valspar you can change the colors with their software. Valspar is a paint that is sold at Lowes. Just know lighting can change the color too. And when you add art such as photography or painting it will change the look of your room again. Antique white or something similar will make your room look larger and you can add pops of color with your accessories such as art, area rugs etc.

carolannr, I love your comment! :))) "That's all the green I want in my house" :))) Yepp, I so need to change that green color!!!
On the other side, as an accent color across the living room, on the very opposite wall of the open plan, green does not look as bad... (see pic), however, I still would have chosen a calmer green, like georgian green HC-115 by Benjamin Moore...
