Replacement Oil tank

We had an oil delivery on Saturday, April 3. The oil burner heated the water but later stopped. Turns out that we have water in the system. The company of course told us they have never had a problem with water in their oil delivery. Perhaps there is a leak in the tank allowing ground water to seep in.

Our tank is original to this house and must be about 35 to 40 years old. I think we should probably replace the tank with an aboveground model. Ours is in the ground and I don't want it to eventually leak oil

What type should we get: and where should it be installed? Basement or garage? We are on Long Island, NY.

I want a tank that will see me through my old age...LOL Should last at least 20 years.

I would appreciate some help! Thanks!
