First off, stop the cap letters.

The washer is probably ok, you have a power problem in your house, or the delivery is erratic. You need whole house surge protection. For the problems you are seeing, it sounds like SEARS is trying thier damnest to satisfy you. In the 40+ years of working on appliances, IMO you have an extreem problem probably never seen before, if all you say is bad.. Look for bad circuit breakers. Undersized wiring, loose plugs. You have external issues. The washer circuit should be only for the washer. Your problems never happen. NEVER.

sorry to burst your bubble but i had an electrician check everything..and everything is o.k...DO YOU work for sears?

i think you shouldnt attack him for suggesting a solution to your problem. i would have suggested checking the same exact things given the problems. That being said assuming you have backup paperwork for all of this you need to head to the store with it and find yourself a manager and notify him that the unit is a lemon and that they need to contact corporate immediately and get it swapped to save everyone the trouble.

Look in your manual and find the Sears Lemon number to call. Explain the nine service calls in one year and they can look it up on their computer, have your service slips handy and go by date. You can also ask for Sears Source ONe telephone number and call them, just be nice and tell them you need replacement of your unit.............did you buy the protection agreement?? Is your unit still under warranty(different parts have diff length of warranty).
    Let us know what happens...............

I don't see the connection between the stated dryer problems and the assumption that it is an electrical problem. Anyways, if repairmen have been out there nine times, I would think they would have figured out before now that the problem is with her electrical service.

I agree w/premier...9 times is very excessive for a product that is only a year old.
We (consumers) are paying more and more money (a lot of money) for products that are not working!!! This has to stop. These manufacturers/brands have to be held responsible for the products they are releasing.
I am at the point where I would pay more for the blasted thing not break down within five years.
Like everything else; gone is the day when one could buy an appliance and have it last for 15 yrs.
We have a Whirlpool side by side fridge w/icemaker and I am amazed that it is still working after only 7yrs! (knock on wood)
My previous washer/dryer was a college graduation gift and it was 17 years old and still working fine. As much as I have enjoyed my LG's I doubt seriously they will be around for 17 years!! which is a shame for the money I paid for them!

I don't do warrantee work for the manufacturer. I see units that have extended warrantee, and independent calls.

When I see as many problems as you stated, I question the source. In this case it is the electric power. I would believe 1-2 problems, that may cause a bigger problem, but when you described your problems, you listed just about every subsystem of the washer.

I don't support SEARS, but they do have an excellent track record in N. Texas. It is hard to compete with someone like SEARS. Extra training on specific products, I never see, is the most important.

Granted many techs are qualified to work on only one product line, say washers, but they are quick to complete the job.

What you are complaining about, is the largest manufacturer of washers in the world, Whirlpool, or GE. a very large manufacturer. Kenmore is a house brand with a few extras.

By the 4th problem, I would have called the regional offices of SEARS and demanded a new washer. They would have delivered.

The one year warranty is over with. This washer is being covered by whichever extended service plan you chose. Get out your paperwork and read it so that you know your rights and responsibilities. Then, call your power company and learn about power surges and how you can protect your home and other appliances. Damage due to not having surge protection is not usually covered by any warranty, but there are a few exceptions. This isn't a substandard product problem when both the washer and dryer are exhibiting multiple systems problems. It is an electrical problem and you need to have it found and repaired or other appliances that you own may be at risk of damage as well.

    luv,
you've struck a somewhat idiotic chord(not you but the theory). The issue is that Manufacturers are making products less and less sturdily. The issue boils down to one of the things you said which was that you would pay more for it too last. You should realize that you for the most part in the minority(these boards are filled with people who would pay more for better but unfortunately they are not a measure of the entire population)

It pretty much boils down to the $299 Washer machine...What i mean is that 10 years ago a big price point was $299, 10 years before that it was the same...and you can still buy a washer for that much money...but where did the money come from? Plastic gears, poorly designer transmissions, fan assemblies, thinner tubing, cheap plastic tubs...

The other side of this is something called planned obsalesence, which is pretty muc hthe idea that if you make a product too well you'll never sell replacements and be out of buisness in one product cycle...look at a brand like choloric(sp?) My grandmother bought 1 Eye-level once...and 42 years later she finally replaced it because she redid her kitchen...look at choloric now...or rather the lack thereof

anyway enough of a rant...i still think there may be larger electrical problems with your unit, but that being said it could really be a lemon so take your paperwork and get on the phone with corporate, stop letting them fix it because after that many calls you and service problems you've got a lemon case on your hand

There were many complaints about the hinges rusting probably a heat treatment issue with the parts. have service order you a set of news ones. Why are they replacing both motors? Noise? Inoperative? If you are receivng error codes I heard CCU, and MCU have had software updates to eliminate all the initial problems everyone has been having. I hope this helps.

What were the 11 service calls for and what were the service tech's fixes?

the service calls for the error codes i was getting f-45,f43,f21,and now f2.....which they never knew what f21 error was to begin with....by the way (bob brown) this issue is with the dryer not the washer...

are your hinges still broken? lid rusted? this can be replaced. never heard of F21, but it should be stored if that is the actual code...f2 is keypad/user interface: UI mismatch or stuck key...seeing that your U/I (user interface) has been working up to this point then I believe you may have a stuck key (the buttons you push to operate the machine)

i decided to get a lawyer to straighten things out with sears...i dont know but here in canada you cant get through with customer service.the lawyer will write them a letter to inform them about my problem...lets see what happens..

Sorry to hear Sears did not come through on their own and you had to go this route. Hopefully, they will straighten up when they hear from your lawyer. Good luck and keep up posted.

Good luck with Sears. They were of no help to me when my washer was marking my clothes. They told me to call Kenmore who told me to call Sears. I'll never buy from Sears again.

stillllllll waiting for news..my lawyer is taking over now..they want ME to pay for a 365$.lid for the washer...and ive bought a 5 year warranty from them..sears calls it cosmetic...do you believe it?

*********update sears IS PAYING FOR THE LID after all..of course my lawyer had to speak to them and they told her that its a manufacturing defect...so i wasn't wrong..(sigh).
