Bump... Please help...

Just wanted to say how lovely your home is. In my area, all the houses are painted. The natural wood is so beautiful, I vote for stain, but of course you will have endless possibilities (but more maintenance) with paint.

I'd love to see it in a light gray with a deeper gray as the accent or the other way around. Then all the white will pop, it's a classic look and one that never gets tired.

You can add gravel to the driveway if that's what is there now (I can't tell). We have a rural gravel drive that takes a couple to few hundred $ or so to replenish.

I did some doodles. Gave you some grass. ;) (If you can grab some big bags of seed now and sew with some starter fertilizer, spring rains will give it a good start. I like Scott's Pure Premium. Or for rural I use Pennkote blend, Lowe's in rural areas, it's cheaper.) Added a little simple front landscaping in mulch. (You can get evergreens and perennials at WalMart, HomeDepot, and Lowe's and not pay a small fortune. Or check small local nurseries. I've often hit on unreal bargains at seasonal road side fruit stands of all places! )

My eyes are so bleary from taxes, struggled a bit to see what is going on in places. Hope it's correct! Kept it simple, did various combinations, particularly with the porch. I tried the porch as it's own unit, and then roof of porch blended with house, but pillars white. Maybe it will help you decide which you like better. I think the porch pillars and roof being all white brings it forward, adds more dimension.

So many stains now come in a variety of solid colors, I'd personally probably go for solid stain for easier maintenance. I did more 'traditional' colors, but given the variety of stain colors available, I tried some colors with a cottage feel, too. Those that would blend best with gray roof. I don't generally like to throw in my .02, just slap various colors on since everyone's taste is different, and let the OP decide what they like. But I think your house pulls off cottage colors quite well, changes the whole look of it!

Wow! All kinds of colours ran through my mind when I first read your question, but I never considered red. I love it! I looked at the album and for some reason didn't care for the cranberry at all, even though I loved the Barnwood Red with white trim. A close second for me is the Dry Riverbed colour. In every colour, I seem to like the the porch best when the triangle is painted the same as the house, not the trim colour. Moonshadow, what a gift you gave to Kathi!

Kathi's house is versatile to me, so many possibilities. Don't care for the burgundy myself either (but try to put a variety out there to cover different tastes). Do like the Barnwood tho. I'm most partial to a light buttery yellow or something like the Iced Latte in her album. Liked some softer, warmer greens too, but with that massive lawn (nice!) and trees leafed out it might over take it & make the house disappear?

Moonshadow... I love the pictures of the house... My son of course loves the grass... Is there any way you can do one with black shutters so I can see what the shutters look like? And one with black trim? You are great... Hope your taxes went well...

The second from the last photo is spot-on. Black trim - well, I have an opinion about super dark trim. It goes on bigger houses like with two stories. A cozy single story doesn't have the mass to pull it off. JMHO

Agree about the pediment (triangle above the door). It looks best painted the body color and defined with trim color.

Shutters - nope, don't need those either. Shutters should look like they could close and effectively protect from the elements.

A color that you love on the body and nicely precise trim paint will make all the difference. The house is simple and I do not think it needs shutters or dramatic trim. Its lines are classic and charming. New colors, fresh paint, maybe landscaping and it will make your lovely home lovelier! :)
