Still have sticky Walls after Diffing (twice)

Hi.

I have steamed the paper from walls and washed twice with Dif after letting it sit for the recommended 15-20 minutes and the walls still feel tacky to the touch. I have a gallon of Gardz. Is this where I can feel safe in priming? I know Gardz has been recommended on this forum so I am hoping so....

Yeah as long as the walls are smooth you should be okay.

The walls need some repair. However, I copied a response from Michael from awhile back that I understood to say Gardz should be used before and after repairs. I am thinking that the repair products need good "tooth" in order to adhere and that the paste might interfere with that?
