I used a Cabot stain - called Cedar Tone. It looks really orange to start...but settles down after a bit

are the posts cedar? May I ask what color stain they are? Sorry about all the question- just love the colors you picked!
Here is our ranch renovation we just painted the brick and are having trouble deciding if we should stain the shake similar to the brick color or keep more natural with the shake door and posts all simalar tones.

    your thoughts...? Any other suggestions?

    Thanks again!

    Thanks Michelle,

Yes this is real cedar shingle. I used a Cabot Oil Based Stain. The reason the Shingles stay so nice is that I try to always incorporate big overhangs in my designs. This house has 4 ft. overhangs. Protects from the Rain in the NW as well as that pesky sun when it comes out. ;) The Green is a Solid Body Stain via Sherwin Williams as the well as the Trim Color: ie Sherwin Williams Alabaster over clear combed 2x6 cedar trim. (guess I was ahead of my time as Alabaster is one of the Colors of the Year this year. Wink, Wink

Is the hardware for the angled column footer and attachment to the header custom created or does this already exist somewhere?
