Yes, she should talk to the vet. Was the second kitten OK? That's a long time between birthing kittens.

I wouldn't let nature take its course since the mother could die and someone is going to be left to handfeed at least 2 kittens.

I just got word that the neighbor was kind enough to go over and check on her. 3 kittens now! All seem to be doing fine! Momma is pretty tired. She is such a tiny thing.....
My daughter spoke with the vet. She told her to bring her in anytime, if there seems to be a problem. Being that she was so tiny, and probably the first litter, thats why it took longer.
Now I have to convince myself, that I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER CAT! (thats me yelling at myself.....lol!)

I went thru this a month ago and was very worried all thru Pumpkin's labour; she was/is pretty weak, around 1yr old, and first-time Mum. Her labour lasted for abt 4 hrs, and she had 7 kittens. Fortunately all the kittens survived (I didn't expect that since we found her in a pathetic condition two weeks before she gave birth). It was easy for me bcoz I'm at home, I know how worried you must be!

Everything seems to be OK with your daughter's kitty. Sometimes if a placenta remains inside the mother cat, it could cause infection and that's really dangerous.

It's advisable to get the queen and kittens checked by the vet within 24 hrs of delivery. Sometimes the mum gets tired and needs assistance with getting the kitten out (if the head/feet can be seen), or with cutting the cord, etc. That's why it's better if someone could be with her, just in case. It's very kind of the neighbor to check in on her, could they stay with her, just in case she needs help?

I don't mean to scare you, I know how it feels, I've been thru it recently, and had to cut the cord for the last baby and clean it up, else it would have died; mum was too tired by that time.

Your DD and her boyfriend are very kind-hearted.

my cat had one kitten last night @ 1030pm. she has not had another one yet. its already the next day. its been 24 hours. Im worried what can i do. she seems to be doing ok
