In the past several weeks the price of Friskies 5.5 oz. canned cat food has gone from about less than $.40/can to $.59/can at one grocery chain. At WalMart, the price of the 13 oz. cans has gone from about $.67/can to $.98/can.
That's a whopping increase - more than any grocery item that I buy on a regular basis.
Purina One, also made by Nestle, dry food has increased but not by nearly as much as the canned stuff.
No wonder people are having to give up their pets! Friskies/Nestle needs to step back and think about the heartbreak they could be causing. And think about the fact that people like me at now looking more and more at store brands and foregoing the name brands.
