Introducing Myself....

hello everyone. My name is Meghan. I live in British Columbia I am married and have two boys ages 6 and 3. I quilt with my MIL I learned about 7 or *sew* years ago but have been activley quilting for the past 2 years. My Mil and I own a Gammill Longarm quilting machine. We are slowly attempting to start our own buisiness quilting quilts... so far we haven't really had time to do it (SIL had a baby today!) my MIL has been using the machine for 5 years, I have a lot to learn and find anything but freehand frusterating ::grin::

So for now I have a bunch of pieced tops waiting their turn on the machine... if you don't mind I'll share a couple of my projects... I have many many more but this is a start :)

This is one of my favourite tops that I have done, the colour is washed out a bit in the picture and it is straighter then it looks there (the wind was blowing!)

This is just one block of a quilt I did for my Grandma, is was a small lap quilt as she is in a wheel chair... I call it my pink quilt. LOL

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome, welcome! I'll look forward to hearing all about your quilting adventures, and love the quilts in your pictures. The "pink" block looks interesting - lots of piecing of lots of pieces - very pretty! How big is that block?

    Welcome Meghan,
Your quilt tops are beautiful. Can't say which is my favorite but the colors and the large print in the second one is especially stricking. I'm not sure I've ever seen a print that large but I really like it!

Thanks for sharing and we look forward to more.

    Welcome!
What great quilt tops you have - they will be fun to quilt on the longarm.
And what a view - is that your back yard? I might not ever get any quilts done if I had that to gaze at! Stunning.

I have a brother in Aldergrove B.C.-he and his family go skiing on the mountains........Geraldine

I adore anything asymmetrical, so your rose quilt is right up my alley. Welcome to our little group!

Thanks Everyone for the wonderful welcome!!! What a friendly group!!! I felt bad posting last night and then dissapearing LOL... I went on a road trip to meet my new nephew today:)

Tose mountains are the view from my house! Beautiful aren't they! We are so lucky :)

Since a few of you asked about the rose quilt, I thought I'd tell a little tiny bit about it... It was probably the easiest quilt I have ever made! Seriously. My MIL came home with a quilt book called Nine Patch pizazz by Judy Sisneros. I saw a quilt in there I LOVED but needed to find the right fabric... walked into our local quilt shop and there it was the rose fabric! It took me three months to find the burgandy fabric that matched just right, but once I got it I whipped that quilt up in no time (maybe 4 hours) I'll post a link below to the authors website it shows some of the quilts from the book. Anyway I find them rather fun and fast... great gift quilts :)

The bottom block was fun too... I got the pattern out of a quilt magazine... I'll try to find it and post the particulars of the quilt. Scraphappy I think it was a 12" block IF i remember correctly :)

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome! I'm defiantely looking forward to getting to know all of you!
