Jacket finished after 20 year delay.

About 20 years ago I purchased a jacket pattern and fabric and set to work creating one of a kind fabric. I bought lining fabric and pieced and quilted. Then came the many year UFO status. My P.E.O. Group has a fund raising program called "Ladies for Hire". We choose tasks to perform, like pet care, drive to the airport, sew, etc. and the recipient donates the amount of her choosing to our scholarship fund.

I chose a great seamstress in the group and she did what I never could...she cut out the jacket and made it for me! I've worn it many times and today it was in my local guild show.

Never give up on your UFO list, even if you have to delegate some of the work.

Linda, your jacket is beautiful. Good for you for staying the same size for 20 years. I've varied up and down by about 70 pounds in the last 20 years. I'm somewhere in the middle now.

Thanks, but in reality I'm up about 15 from then. Luckily there was enough fabric!

Beautiful jacket! I bought a similar pattern and fabric 5 years ago. Never even started it. You've inspired me to put it back on my To Do list.

Thank you. The clothes pins were just there to hold the cards I think.
I will try to model it soon, but unfortunately I was sewing away this afternoon and missed the pick up time. I was a bit embarrassed when they called and didn't catch her name. She said she'd bring it to the next guild meeting though.

Great idea for a fundraiser-and a huge win-win for you! I love the jacket and I don't normally care for 'quilted' clothing. She did a lovely job completing this jacket.
