light fixture for low ceiling?

My bedroom has 8' ceiling and no light fixture.

I want to install a pendant or chandelier, but I don't want to hit my head, is there a fixture you know of that worked successfully. Perhaps only 12"-15" in height?

I don't prefer flush mount light, partly because I have popcorn and it's not the best look.
