Motion sensor curtain for lighting

I am trying to firgure out if I can use a motion PIR curtain such as honeywell's PIR. To turn on and off the lighting stairs. Plan would be to put a sensor at top of stairs and one at bottom of stairs, to trigger the lighting. Curtains are better than occupancy switch as that will go off all the time. Any thoughts?

Here is a link that might be useful: PIR curtain sensor

The problem is that it is only a (low voltage) relay closure and won't control a light directly. I'm not sure why you think this PIR is any more selective than the occupancy switches.

It is a curtain, so instead of 180 degree coverage, it has a straight line of coverage. So you have to pass the invisible curtain to trigger it. Occupany sensor will do the whole room so coverage is a lot more.
