1/2' x 12' tile HELP!

Hi there-

We're in the middle of a kitchen remodel, and having a really hard time with an idea for a back splash. We have granite counter tops (tan/brown), stainless steel appliances, light wood cabinets. We want something very simple, yet unique. We have a window over the sink, and not a whole lot of wall to work with (5 1/2' x 1 1/2'), broken up with a 2 foot window and 3 outlets/switches. We'd like to go with something vertical to help make the area appear longer.

Not wild about going with stainless steel tiles.

Kind of like subway tiles, but still make look too busy.

Our cabinets are natural wood with etched glass doors...since we want simple, considered just having etched glass cut out for the whole area. Prices were insane because of the cut-outs, and we'd probably be cleaning it constantly.

Today I found a glass tile at a store that was 1/2" x 12", 10 bars mounted on mesh. Loved the idea, but the company only offered one color that won't work for us.

I've scoured the internet trying to find the same size tile, with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Brent
