Instead of highjacking the Victorian thread I'll post it here. I used encaustics from Tile Source. The tiles are new and we installed them ourselves. We needed a super tough back entryway since we get a lot of salt and sand on the roads in the winter and it all comes inside. The encaustic tile is a dream come true. Tough, easy to clean and beautiful.

It's sketchy for being period appropriate for the house (1914 Chicago prairie exterior with a colonial revival/craftsman interior) but now that it's in I don't care. Other houses in the area have geometric entryways but they use non cement rectified tiles instead of encaustics. The hallway wasn't finished when this picture was taken but the floor was:
