Do you already have propane? My husband has a friend who uses propane, and they have a huge propane tank in their yard. My husband talks about converting from time-to-time, but there's no way I would have a big fuel tank in my yard, especially because we live in a regular subdivision, not out on a large piece of land.

If you already have propane, your only cost is for a new dryer. If not, you need to factor all the set-up costs in to determine if it's going to save you money in the long run. My husband also gets on the bandwagon about how great it would be to have a gas furance and how much money we'd save, but we'd have to pay to have the gas company bring the gas down our street which would be thousands so it would take a good five to ten years to recoup those costs, and see actual savings.

We already use propane for stove/oven, so adding a tee into existing line should be relativity easy. I was wondering though if a propane clothes dryer is worth it, or should we stay with our electric one (supposely our current one says it is energy efficient...but it came with the house so i don't how old it is)

Have you googled your question to see if you can find reviews on propane dryers, and comparisons to electric ones?
