The only real reason they are all lined up on one side is that the boxes are all nailed to the same king stud next to the door trim. A thermostat shouldn't be right next to room's door if you have separate thermostats for each room. That just puts all the thermostats in the same general vicinity and sensing relatively the same air. Most blinds come with a remote control, so the wall control doesn't need to be as convenient as being right next to the door coming into the room. It can be in a less conspicuous place, like in a closet, or even down low like a receptacle over by the window. If you have that much stuff going on, it may be time to invest in one of the smart house technologies.
