Sounds like it works for her. Nothing wrong with being out of the box if it means efficiency and sounds like she's having fun as well. As long as it was researched to work in her area with no future problems, why not?

I like "out of the box", but I'd be willing to wager there will be expensive unforeseen consequences.

My general observation is that designers/architects/engineers don't like to think about long term consequences (or even maintenance issues) enough. Or maybe they think about them, but know they won't be the ones that have to deal with them.

Good point, homebound. One issue would be drainage and how that is taken out of the room. Holding all that moisture cant be too good a thing unless they have planned for it. Excessive moisture equalling mold issues.

It's funny that she mentions the moisture as good for her sinuses-- my friends in Pennsylvania ran de-humidifers for the sake of their sinuses, must be the difference in the natural humidity-- we are pretty dry in Montana and Idaho.

..always though the beach would be nice...I can get the sand/shells but not the waves!
