elllsworth11 this thread is old but Im hoping you see this. We have floors as dark as yours but we see footprints ALL over! Clean foot prints, no shoe house. I clean, prints go away for there to be hundreds of fresh prints the next day. No oils are used on our floors. I feel like it is the finish that was used on our floors. Do you have this issue??

@lesleyjwolff this is the architect... yes, the curse of any solid color surface...be it solid white or black counters, white tile floors show dark hair and such and dark floors are a great way to showcase "dust bunnies". These are maintenance finish. Typically, I recommend if you have a family and or pets that you take the Vegas approach and go with texture and pattern where ever you can.. The goal in 24 hour public space is to be able to hide a pizza if it falls to the ground. Anything that does not have movement/pattern is going to be an issue if you don't have staff walking behind you to polish the finger prints off the brass and glass like they do on a cruise ship. I suffered this when I installed a matte black table in my showroom and kitchen. It always looks like it needs wiped down. Thus when I did my new kitchen ...the counters are quartzite with lots of movement/veining. They NEVER look dirty! I recommend wood floors that show the wood grain...they are the color of dirt and again...NEVER look dirty. Best of luck.

Hi thank you for your comment. A few of my neighbors have dark wood floors in they have an active household as well but not the issue with the foot prints. I feel like it could be whatever the coating is on our floor so I am wondering if the oil based is more friendly in terms of mark ups. I can deal w dust snd hair but actual footprints no

Have you discussed with neighbors? What are you using to clean? I recommend Bona. Stay away from Mop n Glow. You may want to have a wood flooring specialist come and take a look.
