Exterior--keep the stone in the entry or lose it?

We are doing smooth Santa Barbara style stucco on the rest of the house and new glass front doors and garage doors.

I like the stone. Maybe swap out the plants for taller ones and stain the concrete in the entry a bold color that compliments the new stucco

in this case i would probably loose the stone. or at least on the side walls. but i think it will look a bit dated to keep the stone. normally i love stone but with the new stucco i think it will look more complete with out.

if it was stack stone, or a little less "70's" stone id say keep it.

I'd remove the stone and replace it with 4" horizontal tongue and groove clear cedar with tight joints (no reveal). Like what I used on my exterior renovation here (above the grey shiplap). A clear finish would be ideal.
