We are building a modern home with steel stairs in the middle. We ordered steel stairs with the description of raw with a clear coat to show marks/welding etc. They gave us sandblasted, powder coated with a clear coat! Looks the cole of gray lockers- I'm devastated. They have now stripped them and have stainless steel and we have been told we will never get them back to the raw look! I could cry. Anyone have any suggestions? There has been talk of painting black- but that woul be harsh in the house as it has somewhat of a handmade natural vibe. They have suggested taking a torch to them? Any experience or ideas?
