I would using different chairs, even same style just not exactly same as couch.. I like the idea abbyjean suggested switching the couch opposite the window. Maybe something like these, in any color/pattern.

Oh, that second chair pictured above is beautiful! You could get some color with your pillows and throw to tie in the rug then.

if u wanna add more color do it with accessories
1) brighter curtains
2) more contemporary rug
3) i would add stripes of wallpaper on both sides of fireplace (like in the pic)

jelo - the sofa was purchased from Value City Furniture.

The look is already beautiful. I will add a color accessory to unify and bring life to the room. I will do blue accessories; one on the coffee table, and maybe a big vase by the corner.

I would also like to know where you bought sofa Pottery barn has a similar one please advise Ty;)

I have no problems with the chairs matching the sofa. I would try a different layout though:

* Put the sofa where the chairs are currently located.
* Place the chairs facing the fireplace. (I don't like these chairs angled in - square them off.)
* Leave the space in front of the windows open. These windows are great but could use more majestic curtains - black or very dark grey for some more drama.
* If the window section feels too naked with no furniture in front of it, add an upholstered bench.

I disagree that this room needs more color. I think you have a very sophisticated pallet going on here.

Although personally I would choose 2 chairs of a different style than the sofa (like in the pictures below), I think your room will turn out beautifully regardless. I agree with abbyjean's and carolbrandywine's furniture layout suggestions. I also think your room doesn't need a whole lot more color....maybe just more touches purple (like in the flowers above the mantle) accented throughout the space. IMO that shade of purple/lavender is an elegant complement to the blue rug.

I don't think its a wise decision to make all the chairs match. Get creative! There are tons of options that can help you create an amazing space.
