Hi all,

I’m looking for recommendations for an architect to design the plans for my kitchen gut renovation in Brooklyn, NY, that I can bid out to general contractors (the renovation will include pulling down a wall, which will also necessitate changing some electrical wiring, which is why I’ll need an architect), file the plans with DOB, perhaps suggest some good sources for materials, and check in on the work of the contractors at some point to ensure everything is being built according to specifications. I have a clear idea of what I want design-wise but it would be great if a creative architect could point out things I hadn’t thought about in order to maximize the space and make it more functional. I’m looking for someone who charges a reasonable rate or is willing to work on an hourly basis since the work will not be that involved. I’m working with a tight budget and can’t go much beyond $5000 for architect services.

I’d love recommendations–not from architects directly offering their services–but from site users who have worked with architects on their kitchen remodels.
