You were smart to do the paint color last. Your idea of using a lighter version of the island paint would accomplish two major things; tying things into the backsplash and island, as well as helping to pop the cabinets against the wall color. Brilliant! :-)

I would add a darker shade of your backsplash color. Add two coral hand blown pendants over the island. If you do not have under cabinet LED lights add those.

Beautiful kitchen & smart to use white appliances.

Add some color in throw rugs in front of sink, stove & fridge. Roman shades above window in similar color.

A light grey would look nice. On the blue side, maybe, but keep it grey. I think the wood window trim is a bit distracting. Can you paint that white, same color as the cabinets?

I don't disagree about the window trim, but then it would not match the rest of the windows, doors,and baseboards etc... in the whole house.

That would be your call, since we don't have any more images of how the kitchen fits into the rest of the house. But, just my opinion, it might work because you have such nice trim on the cabinets that is white, and it will blend in with that. It won't stand out from the color scheme of the kitchen, as it does now.

Love what you've done. Is the backsplash white glass or is it blue? I know white glass has a blue tinge. Either way, I'd go cool light gray. Because of lighting you'll have to do a hit or miss. You have a great eye - you'll make it perfect!

yes the picture isn't the best.... it is white glass tile with the mosiac as an insert.

Good choice. Sandradclark's suggestion of coral pendants is a great idea--that or somewhere getting a splash of color--coral would seem to be the perfect complement--just the right contrasting hue to the grey/blues you have.

It looks like the trim around the doorway is painted white. So I say paint the window trim white. It will make a huge difference and make the gray walls even look better.

I like a warm kitchen and "yellow" is the complimentary color of the blue and green in your backsplash. Your kitchen colors are identical to ours so I suggest (Sherwin Williams) Jersey Cream or Ivory. The darker version of the Ivory is Blonde if you want a darker wall. I would definitely paint the island green for a pop of color. An avocado would be great with these colors

OOPS! just looked at the backsplash closely. I had read green and blue instead of grey and blue. the island should definitely be grey not green with the wall colors that I suggested. I like a shade that matches stainless which is a medium tone.

I would paint the window trim white (so it doesn't stand out so much with the cabinet but blend in) , then do a light grayish color as I think you stated for the walls. Bring other colors in by using appliances, rugs, lighting, etc. If you don't have under the counter lighting, do get some! I have it under my cabinets and plan to put it under my NEW kitchen I am in the process of getting. YOU can never have too much lighting in a kitchen!! Makes a BIG difference! I am planning on gray/white streaked cabinets with a black island with granite counter tops. Mine current kitchen has light cherry cabinets and I want new ones painted! GOOD LUCK!!

Paint the window trim. Then.
Paint all the trim in the house. Skinny, contractors oak looks cheap.

Love what you've done. What color you paint the walls depends on the look you are trying to get. Blue, yellow, white with a touch of red would give you a French country look. I tend to like not being "safe" with muted colors in a kitchen, where you are working hard to put meals together. I like cheerfulness in Kitchens..

Try Blackened by Farrow and Ball

I'd take off the old trim and put in a flat trim a bit wider than what is up there. white will not stand out like the oak, and flat trim will be more up to date. i'd also go with a soft yellow. not one w red in it, or blue in it, but a bright pale (if that makes sense) enough color to bring out the other colors you have put in your back splash and contrast w your almost black counter top. or i'd go w a warm grey and use red as an accent color.

I agree with the grey wall color.. Consider painting your trim black or white though... To complete your look your going for.

Hurrah for white appliances. I hate stainless.

I would recommend a yellow to brighten up the space. Yellow and blue (and gray) are terrific together. Get lots of swatches of yellows at the paint stores. Choose the five favorites and get those small paint samples and try them to see which fits best! Also, I agree the trim is distracting--I recommend white to coordinate with appliances..

A white paint with grey undertones would look lovely. You could also go with white with blue undertones for paint. How much daylight do you receive in the space? Alot of daylight allows you to use more saturated colors, less daylight requires less saturated color on the walls for more reflected light. Pay for a few small samples in different locations in the room and see how they look at different times of the day.

Remove light blue ceramic tiles. Paint the walls navy blue. The light blue tiles makes it look old. Maybe even make the tiles white too. White and navy blue look good together.

Definitely go with a gray similar to the glass tile. And please paint the window trim white also. Looks nice!

Window trim white, wall paint a light, whitened mustard. And definitely the coral pendants. No one else's kitchen will look like yours. There's already enough grey/blue tones; try the opposite side of the color wheel for warmth and drama.

I would paint the doors and drawer fronts on the island the same color grey as the island. also the window trim would look so much better white even if all the trim in the house is stained. I would also add a valance that picks up your blues and greys to finish.
