need help for bathroom - towel bars

I need to store 4 bath towels in my small bathroom. I prefer horizontal towel bars to a vertical 4 bar swivel. I have about 25 - 28" of usable width along the wall I intend to use. I prefer to use back of door for robe hooks since when the door is left open the towels would be against the side wall and they get mildewy. Any ideas for how to solve this dilemma?

we used robe hooks along the wall for hanging bath towels, they get dry faster than scrumped up on a too-short towel bar. and a towel bar is always too short for a bath towel. just make sure you put them high enough.

Personally, I use robe hooks for towels as well. (I have about as much available "towel bar space" as you do.) If you prefer the look of a towel bar, you may be able to fit a 24" towel bar in a 28" space. Maybe you could mount two on the wall (at different heights) so you can hang more than one towel at a time?
