Nothing about Alside windows are "high end". Lower end of the barrel without a doubt.

I doubt it ....but I will ask the question anyway, was there a prescribed dollar amount that your insurance company would allow for windows?

Not certain, but yet I am suspect, as to why this was a rush job - contractor kick back / incentive on Alside product??? Again, not certain as to why you had absolutely no say in the product selection. It is your house and you own it, correct?

As millworkman has already pointed out, Alside is a far cry from a TRUE high end window. At the very least, Alside is the high end of the low quality window arena.

The contractor is listing in their work-order to the insurance com[any the following for the window replacement: "Remove vinyl window - double hung, 9-12 sq. ft. - High grade---$20.33, Vinyl window - double hung, 9-12 sq. ft. - High grade---291.70, Add on for "Low E" glass---$20.52". These are standard house windows, by this I mean nothing fancy, the house was built in 1968 and about 10 years a go I replaced the original double hung windows with high end vinyl windows. When I mention high end I paid more for a better window than say a Home Depot standard window because I was saving on labor by installing them myself. Yes, we own the home and I hope I don't have to get into a "strong objection" with the contractor but if need be I can and will. We still have to sign off on the final $15K payment to them.
