River Birch Rabbit Damage

Hi all - we have a young River birch that was breakfast lunch and dinner to a neighborhood rabbit this winter (I didn't know they were so vulnerable or else I'd have protected it). Currently the tree stands at about two feet (was four). The rabbit are the branches off clean (but I did cut below the damage with sanitized clippers before the spring warmup). There is no chewing or girdling anywhere. It's weeping (which I read is normal) and that tells me it's trying to hang in there. Is it worth it to try and rehab? It appears to be trying to throw new branches already. We do have to move it anyway because of some new lines coming in that we didn't know about prior to planting. I'd love to have the satisfaction of saving it if it's possible but if it's pointless, it isn't a great financial loss. $15 I think?
