Powdered orthene. Good for thrip and scale also. It kills on contact and is a systemic. I use it at first sign of trouble. Otherwise I spray every 3 months. It can be added to fertilizer or anything else you spray or spray alone.

Bayer systemics work also. Look for Rose and Flower or Tree and Shrub. Follow directions closely and repeat treatments for 3-4 weeks in a row.

For such and infestation, I agree with Harvey and Bob. Make sure you let the pesticide run through the pot. Mealybug will hang out around the roots. I would also treat every plant in my collection, not just the one that are infested.

I have problems with mealies and aphids on my ornamental flowering plants--used Bayer 3 in 1--it works quickly.
