If those are willows (in fact, this applies to almost any shrub or tree that's close to an old stone house with stone foundations) your best bet is to get rid of them asap. Willows are notoriously greedy and thirsty, and will force their roots into stone foundations with great determination, particularly in drought years. They also have a VERY long reach: their roots can reach around 2x as far as the height of the tree (or shrub)!

We had a similar situation with our 1850s stone farmhouse - willows and lilacs - and we chopped them all back and pulled the stumps out with tractor and chains. Do be careful, though, because if the roots are already into the foundations you may cause damage, so proceed with caution (and good friends, tough gloves, and beer).
