In order to make a shower doorless there needs to be additional space to "step in' before actually entering the "shower" area. This is so that when the water is on, is it is not spraying all over the bath floor (since when a person is in the shower the water deflects all over). For this "step in " area I like to have at least 2' of of space. For example if you wanted a 4' long showering area, then I would add 2' to that for the step in, or a 6' long space. Based on the dimensions you have, I would say you have 3 options. 1- do a large step in shower and delete the tub, OR 2-forget the step in shower so you can keep both shower and tub OR 3- consider doing a "wet room" where you combine the shower and tub together in the same space.
