Our house is cedar shingles that got stained dark brown over 30years ago, and white trim and gables. It all needs to go. Someday.

I'm so jealous! Mine is white with black shutters. I did add some porch color! But one day...just maybe!

Red! Covered cedar which had been painted mud brown by the previous owners with durable siding in our favorite color. May be a bit much for some, but we love it!

Currently beige with brown trim, but repainting the exterior a different color is on the (long) list of future projects. Haven't decided on a color yet, but leaning toward grey with charcoal trim.

There are so many beige houses on my block, it drives me crazy! Mine is platinum grey with a silvery roof.

Thank God, we have rules in our neighborhood regarding the color of houses! If you don't have that, all it takes is one jerk to ruin the value of the homes around it.

Mine is a very pale yellow (color chosen by previous owner). I doubt I'll be here when it needs a full repaint, but if I was, I'm not sure what I'd paint it. The front door was painted same pale yellow as the house--I plan to change that this summer. I feel the front door should stand out, so I'll opt to paint it the deep green that is on a couple of accent pieces on the house in back (there's enough paint left to cover the door).

My favorite house color was taupe with white trim and a lipstick cranberry door. It looked wonderful with the foundation brick too. I got many compliments as people drove by when I was out gardening after it was freshly painted. The previous color was a worn out medium blue with a faded coral door--ick--didn't go with the brick at all.

FYI I paid the young group of painters in cash, that saved me several hundred dollars off the bill.

Mine is painted a medium brown to go with the reddish color of the brick, plus I chose a glossy black for the front door.

I now live in South Africa Hermanus. Touted as the premier land based whale watching spot in the world. It is also home to scores of dolphins hence the water feature motif. This photo below shows the back yard looking west. It is a long narrow strip and we wanted to make the panorama attractive.

We bought a 30 something Cape Dutch style house and did a major reno on it by increasing the footprint by over 35%. The house was a bit drab and many of the houses in the area are really quite pretty. So I set out to make it hood friendly yet still with a bit of pizzazz. In this shot the garden is only about 5 weeks old so not yet near where we hope it will be next season.

I felt that the "pinstripe" around the Dormers would bring an accent to them. I also added headers to the windows to give more detail and depth The top

pic shows before and after.. The lower shows the back yard with the water feature. Notice I carried the pinstripe over the whole back wall and this detail really gave a lift to the whole house. Any comments will be appreciated since we did not use any professionals in the painting or landscape. The back yard was a bit like a bowling ally so we did what we could to dress it up and keep the maintenance down to a minimum. We are both seniors so we are not up for a lot of hard work in the garden. On the subject of budget for all this work it is hard to imagine how little this cost in North American terms. Prices are very different in South Africa so the whole package including the initial purchase is about $200,000.00 Keeping in mind this was major construction by adding over 30% to footprint . It also includes doubling the size of the kitchen and luxury oversized master bathroom.

Yellow with white trim and Aqua accents

Sherwin Williams "Foothills"! Its a beautiful dark taupe I use it everywhere. Inside we had the kitchen cabinets (which were pickled oak) painted foothills and all the white interior doors. So last year after some hail damage we had the exterior painted foothills with a red front door. Its a modern and classy look.

My house used to be a striking slate blue when we moved in. Then the landlord covered it with the most boring tan vinyl siding just before he announced he was selling it. We bought it--but I wished he would have asked us first about colors. Now I feel stuck for life in something really ugly. I am going to paint the front door a bright tomatoe red this summer!!

In California, we had a violet, pink and purple house. It was so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steel siding in Cedar color with evergreen and bronze window and door trim and standing seam green steel roof! We love this new look as it used to be boring Beige with asphalt shingle roof!! Front door will be painted bronze this summer.

Chalet

We painted our late 80s ranch pale lilac with a purple door. The shutters were already black. The trim is white. My husband chose the colors knowing they are my favorites. I never would have guessed he would go for those colors; he said he wanted something totally different from any of the neighbors' homes. He definitely got his wish! I suspect we have the only lilac ranch style home in the entire metro Atlanta area! You should have seen the painter's facial expression when we handed him the color chips. It was priceless! His only comment after he recovered was " well, its definitely different."

It turned out great! Even our skeptical painter was impressed. We get compliments on it all the time.

I have a big Blue house overlooking the Bay in Englewood, Florida. Love it. We bought it August 2014 and it was a faded pink and had been neglected for 8 years. We painted it blue with white trim to pull in the colors of the beautiful Florida sky and the gorgeous greenery surround. It is still a work in progress and soon we hope to have many Palm Trees swaying in the breeze too.

My bungalow is Marigold orange. Goes great with the flowers. Thank God I don't live in a covenant controlled community!

Oddly I don't seem to have a pic of the front of my house! I have lots of garden pics, pond pics, critter pics.... I have a ton of pics from when a tornado took out three trees two summers ago. But no house pics. Oh well, the one below is very close. The main color of my house is Canoe by Behr - love the color, not a fan of the paint. The shutters are dark navy, the trim is white and the door is a lovely cherry red with a beautiful floral stained glass insert that I made many, MANY years ago. Boy do I miss my trees!

We retired in a small (conservative) town in Saskatchewan.They saw our house coming from miles away!

Somewhere I have pictures, very plain square house - white asbestos shingles were painted with a dirty white then they painted windows, shutters and foundation a color I can only describe as baby poop brown ( or more refined say dark mustard). Have new charcoal roof - plan is to get rid of the offensive color and still am toying with a teal or turquoise ( I somehow have 3 gallons of this color exterior paint) or deep red for window/shutters and charcoal for foundation. One neighbor told me not to go with red because neighbor on other side has red roof. No restrictions here so I have a feeling my budget will scream 'use what you already have!' Just about anything is an improvement at this point and the stuff must be painted this summer as it is in terrible condition. Want to keep the original wood door as is for now but back door might get spiffed up a bit too (I found a quart of deep purple exterior in my stash!)

I HATE the current color of our house. It's a very pale (washed out by the sun...luckily) pink. The house is a small stucco pueblo style...not uncommon here in Tucson. We have plans (one of these days) for a big remodeling project in the front in order to create an enclosed front patio, and we don't want to bother painting until that happens. Then we will paint the house a neutral color, and paint the surrounding walls a nice complimentary BRIGHT color. Something to provide a pretty back drop to all the colorful cactus and succulents I intend to plant. Maybe I'll send in a before and after once this project is done.

The paint is in good shape,

so it won't be changed any time soon. When it is, I want to paint it the color of a sunrise, like this

Mine is medium/light gray, white trim, painted in about 1990 and due to be repainted again next year. I had a new roof put on last year and now it's the same color, so the new paint will be a deeper blue-gray for a little contrast.

South Florida. White stucco with grey Spanish tile roof. I really wanted the tiled roof when we moved here. I would have preferred the terra cotta color, but this is what we ended up with when we house searched. If I had the money to transform the exterior, I'd go with the terra cotta tiles, golden yellow paint and a rustic wooden door and wooden garage doors with metal accents. I'd also change the landscaping and add more colorful plants in shades of red, pink and orange.

faded light yellow, needs an update. I'm leaning towards a nice sunny yellow, this property is very shaded and needs some color.

Our Fl home is a light creamy yellow, with red roof tiles, a red door and cream trim. Happy colors!
