Please remove the insects from the wall. The rug is interesting and could work only if you plan on a very eclectic look in your home. It doesn't go at all with the front door or the surrounding mouldings. However, I like it if you're going for a daring design approach.

The staircase wall could showcase two or three rugs, hung on the wall, using descending sizes of rugs. Alternately, you could hang a collection of art on the wall.

Please forgive me. I should have known better, having lived 7 years on Oahu! Maybe the turtles need to be climbing up the stairway wall.

Carolyn, long time, no see. (And even I knew they were turtles. LOL) I think they need to go somewhere else, though; over the entry door is not really a place to draw the eye. Nor is that little spot above the stair, so the clock should go back to the kitchen where it belongs. ;-)
