Need help with how to remove a white ring on my new granite counter .

We just put Austral Dream granite on our island. Within 2 weeks I noticed a white ring on the surface. I have been careful with what I know to be hard on granite. This is not a stain but a white ring like you might see on wood furniture. Any suggestions on how to remove it and what might have been the cause. Thanks for any help.
