Are you quilting this weekend? May 9-10

I haven't been in my sewing room all week. We made two trips to Dayton in the last five days and have been busy planting flowers here at home. I hope to get back to my sewing machine later today. I have one more border to put on the Island Sunrise and a baby quilt to finish.

Wow, Glass! It's been summer here for a while now. I'm getting ready to change to my summer bedspread (which is a quilt with no batting LOL). A/C's been cranking since last month.

Yesterday we went to visit my mom, then went to a concert and dinner with friends. Today I plan to get the baby quilt on the frame. The stack & whack is on the frame now, but I'm not happy with the quilting I did so I'm going to rip it out. :(

My son treated his wife & me to a massage. When we were done, we had ice cream. It was great. I bought 4 flats of flowers - won't be able to plant them until the weather clears up.

We're going to my daughter's house for brunch this morning. If the weather stays dry, I may visit the garden shop and do more planting. If not, quilting is on the agenda.

I won't be doing any sewing but am packing things up for a week long FMQ class starting tomorrow with Cindy Needham. I haven't done a long class for quite awhile so will be gathering all day. It should be fun and being local, I can always run home in an emergency. As usual I will take too much.

Happy Mothers Day to all of you. My 95-year-old Mom says she "has plans". I don't think it will involve men so I won't worry. She can handle herself pretty well. I worry she will have dyed her hair purple by the next time I go up but if that's the worst trouble she can get in to, that's okay.

Just cooked some green beans to take to our family lunch today and now I'm sewing on the binding for the latest baby quilt. I want to show it to my sister, as the quilt was made for her grandson in Brazil. Wonder how much that's going to cost me to send it and insure it?

Happy Mother's Day! I have a bad sinus infection right now, so spending a quiet day at home crocheting a doily for my Mom, ... will see her at the end of this coming week at my son's elementary graduation... it's not an official cap and gown graduation... but that's what they are calling their awards program for his grade... I have a wonderful little boy, ... hard to believe he is fixing to be in jr. high next year. DH is going out to eat with M-I-L later this afternoon.

I am cooking dinner today. Mom & MIL arrived Wednesday and will stay for a couple + weeks, so we are blessed to have them both here. DS & wife will join us. I finished piecing some more scraps and then made square in a square to tie them together and got all 30 blocks sewn together. I found fabric for border but won't get it on until tomorrow.

We took the electric blanket off the bed Friday thinking we had finally reached warm spring weather. That lasted three nights. As of last night it's back on the bed. Yesterday DH woke up cold and I woke up in the middle of the night with my legs aching so much I could hardly walk. I guess I'm getting old.
