Reverse powder room door to block view of toilet from Great Room.
Move south garage wall back to breakfast room rear wall. This will simplify trusses and add cheap space to laundry where you can rotate w/d to garage wall and have room for sink and folding counter dogleg in front of window.

Great points so far. Design wise, the closet between the bedroom and dining room looks a bit forced and you are left with a little niche in the dining room, which also makes it difficult for furniture placement. Another one is the Master Bedroom area which has been mentioned already with its awkward access to the Master Ensuite.

I would swap the toilet and the second vanity. Create a double vanity and tuck the toilet away beside the shower

Ok, since we're apparently not limited to one, let's think conceptually for a minute instead of objectively.

To be honest this looks like the typical disconnect between a plan and the site. It looks like an approach where thinking is stopping at the exterior walls where it should be stopping at the property line. For an earlier thread I posted a few house/site examples in an idea book so for those that are interested, go there and you'll see thinking that stops at the property lines, not the exterior walls. As a matter of fact it looks like here in Houzz, most of the great exterior stuff posted in photos has that kind of thinking. and they're in everyone's Ideabooks but few are realizing what makes those houses in the photos really work.

This kind of thinking is not an easy thing to pull off even though the end result looks easy. Like Hemingway said "Easy reading is hard writing". No different with design.

With that said, let's go back to thinking objectively.....specific details. If I think of a window as a hole in the wall that's probably all the window will ever become. But if I think of it as part of the relationship between light and dark, heat and cold, glass to wall, etc. it has the potential to become a lot more. Whoever designed the windows in the back looks like they have the "hole in the wall" thinking. For example, instead of a really nice bank of windows in the back of the great room we have three holes. Same with the breakfast area, a lot of wall with a hole in it. Wrap the window around the corner, but of course don't stop your thinking there....

For me the biggest issue was the entrance to the closet from the bathroom. I like the idea of moving the laundry wall over for more usable laundry space.

You will have to have a treatment for privacy anyway. The shower is right past the toilet. I had a 1/2 bath on a porch once. It was a challenge. I had blinds on the window and had them turned so that people outside could not see in. It would freak guests out because they could see out so they would flip them which would give a great view from the porch but you could not see out then so they felt better-like a baby that covers it's eyes when they hide. i'd find those blinds flipped after every party!

i love the idea of more windows = more light! Looks like its going to be back to the drawing board for me!!
