help identifying plant

this is a perennial, lays low on the ground and does not creep all over like a mint. No fragrance that I notice. It was given to me 20 yr. ago and is still the same size, does not flower, just stays green in the shade. I have looked at nurseries, books, online, and came up with one image, and no name.

I'm afraid that without a picture you are very unlikely to get an id. Can you take, or find someone to take, a photo and post it here?

If no picture is possible then please try to describe the leaf size and shape. You say it is 'the same size' but you haven't told us what size that is. Height? Spread?
