I think Austral Dream is a quartzite.....SO NO PEROXIDE!!!!! If that's a quartzite, it could be etching not a stain. If there are streaks all over...I have to ask what you are using to clean the counters? Are you using anything with chemicals like a standard all purpose cleaner or windex? Windex is a huge no no for granite. Also, have you sealed your quartzite? There are bunch of things that could have happened here...if you could fill me in on how you've been cleaning it and taking care of it, i'll have a better idea of how to help.... but meanwhile...no chemicals or acidic substances!

Hi, I have also been having issues with etching. I have a quartzite called Absolute crystal onyx. It looks like marble but was sold to me as a quartzite. It comes from Brazil. It had areas of etching almost immediately after installation. I use a mild soap and water, no chemicals to clean it. I now have water etching marks as well as rings from glasses. I am so disappointed and was never warned that this would happen. I even had the installer come and re-polish the first etching that appeared but then it came back! It has also been sealed. Is there anything I can do? I tried baking soda and water but that didn't work.
